Birth & Recovery Consultation
This program consists of a consultation for mothers who are pregnant, preparing for delivery, or in the early postpartum phase. If you are looking for practical education about birth preparation, pelvic floor support, early recovery, lifting and carrying your baby, breastfeeding positions, mobility, and breath work, this program is for you.
You do not need to be in discomfort or have a specific diagnosis to schedule a consultation. Whether you are preparing for birth or navigating the first weeks after delivery, a pelvic health consultation gives you a chance to ask questions, learn what to expect, and feel more confident in what you can do to support your body.
Who can benefit from a Birth & Recovery consultation?
What happens during a Birth & Recovery consultation?
During a Birth & Recovery consultation, a pelvic health physical therapist will talk with you about your goals, questions, and concerns based on where you are in your motherhood journey. If you are preparing for birth, the call may include education on how to support your body during labor and delivery, coordinate breathing and pelvic floor movement, and prepare for the early postpartum phase. If you recently had your baby, the consultation can focus on early recovery, feeding positions, lifting and carrying baby, gentle mobility, breath work, and ways to reduce strain as your body heals.
For those looking for support before birth
Many expecting mothers are told what to expect during pregnancy, but not always how to prepare their body for birth or what recovery may look like immediately afterward. A pelvic health physical therapist can help you understand how your pelvic floor, breath, positioning, and body mechanics may play a role in delivery preparation and early postpartum healing.
During a prenatal consultation, a pelvic health specialist may discuss how to prepare your body for birth, including education on delivery positions, pushing mechanics, pelvic floor coordination and ways to support the perineal tissues before delivery. Other topics may include:
For those looking for support after birth
The first six weeks after delivery can feel overwhelming. You are healing, feeding your baby, lifting and carrying more than expected, and trying to understand what movement is appropriate for your body.
The pelvic health specialist may provide education on the following:
Can I schedule a consultation if I have already had my baby?
Yes. These calls are designed for both expecting mothers and mothers who have already delivered. If your baby is already here, your consultation can focus on the questions and challenges you are experiencing right now, such as feeding positions, lifting and carrying the baby, back tightness, early mobility, breathing strategies, and general recovery guidance.
No matter where you are in the process, pregnant, newly postpartum, or preparing for what comes next, we are here to help you feel more supported and informed.
